
After attaining his BA in History and Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University Berlin, Julian Sandhagen studied Modern European History in Berlin, Sarajevo, and Rome and attained his MA in 2021. His Master-thesis dealt with questions regarding Habsburg Public Health Policy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During his studies, Julian Sandhagen worked at the Chair for Southeast European History at the Humboldt University Berlin. His doctoral research, commencing in October 2022, focuses on the complex relations between the Vatican and the multiconfessional and also socialist societies of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania in the years from 1945 to 1958.
