
Siegfried Weichlein is Professor for Contemporary European and Swiss History at the University of Fribourg. His research focuses on the history of nationalism, federalism and regionalism, the cultural history of the Cold War, and the modern religious history of Christianity. Siegfried Weichlein repeatedly was a visiting fellow at the Center for European Studies at Harvard University. He is the author of several books on federalism and regional milieus in the German Kaiserreich, the Weimar Republic, and the West German Federal Republic.
